In September 2006, WPD Studio was approached by the Winnakee Land Trust Corp., http://www.winnakeeland.org/ a land conservancy group, to photograph a series of historic barns located in Dutchess County NY. The Images would be printed, mounted, and exhibited during a day-long tour of the barns by area residents. The purpose of the tour was to bring awareness to the plight of "open spaces" and the loss of the majestic workhorse of the last century, The Barn.

In the fall of 2006, West Pine Designs was retained by the Antique and Vintage Wood Company http://antiqueandvintagewoods.com . Their novel idea of "drop-off Cottages" was taking off but needed some press and publicity. A set of interior and exterior shots of all their model cottages was needed. This was a particular challenge since the cottages were barely furnished leaving little in the way of "hiding" places for fill lights. Glare and overexposure was streaming through the windows also. The final result were beautiful representations for both Web and Publication. Framed enlargements would also be hung on the walls of their Pine Plains, NY showroom.

September 2007 saw the second annual Winnakee Historic Barn Tour conducted by the Winnakee Land Trust http://www.winnakeeland.org/ WPD Studio was instrumental in supplying high-quality images of all of the tour barns. The images were used for the invitations, programs, and they graced the covers of notecards. The notecards were a gift to the landowners as a thankyou from Winnakee. This year's wine and cheese party, hosted by the last barn of the tour, was held at the historic Clifton Point., the former farm of the Astor Family that supplied meat and dairy to their New York City Hotels in the 19th century. The farm is now owned by Annie Leibovits, the famed portrait photographer, who has painstakingly restored the farm to its former prestige. Again, the purpose of the tour was to bring awareness to the plight of "open spaces" and the loss of the majestic workhorse of the last century, The Barn.
