In September 2006, WPD Studio was approached by the Winnakee Land Trust Corp., http://www.winnakeeland.org/ a land conservancy group, to photograph a series of historic barns located in Dutchess County NY. The Images would be printed, mounted, and exhibited during a day-long tour of the barns by area residents. The purpose of the tour was to bring awareness to the plight of "open spaces" and the loss of the majestic workhorse of the last century, The Barn.

In the fall of 2006, West Pine Designs was retained by the Antique and Vintage Wood Company http://antiqueandvintagewoods.com . Their novel idea of "drop-off Cottages" was taking off but needed some press and publicity. A set of interior and exterior shots of all their model cottages was needed. This was a particular challenge since the cottages were barely furnished leaving little in the way of "hiding" places for fill lights. Glare and overexposure was streaming through the windows also. The final result were beautiful representations for both Web and Publication. Framed enlargements would also be hung on the walls of their Pine Plains, NY showroom.

September 2007 saw the second annual Winnakee Historic Barn Tour conducted by the Winnakee Land Trust http://www.winnakeeland.org/ WPD Studio was instrumental in supplying high-quality images of all of the tour barns. The images were used for the invitations, programs, and they graced the covers of notecards. The notecards were a gift to the landowners as a thankyou from Winnakee. This year's wine and cheese party, hosted by the last barn of the tour, was held at the historic Clifton Point., the former farm of the Astor Family that supplied meat and dairy to their New York City Hotels in the 19th century. The farm is now owned by Annie Leibovits, the famed portrait photographer, who has painstakingly restored the farm to its former prestige. Again, the purpose of the tour was to bring awareness to the plight of "open spaces" and the loss of the majestic workhorse of the last century, The Barn.

In Late Summer of 08, West Pine Photography Studio was asked to do an archiveing of the Historic Old Stone Farm. Owners Sherry and Stu Kahn were working to open a Wellness Institute on the property. Much of their painstaking restoration work was done and only the Guest Quarters and Library were still under construction. The Institute will boast one of the largest and well-eqquiped horse barn/riding arena in the Valley. West Pine Photography worked from late summer through early winter to record all aspects of the property from riding trails to the pre-revolution Homestead Farmhouse which will serve as the teacher's quarters. Below is a sampling of the farm's natural beauty and buildings. The Images will be used for print and web promotions.

The third annual Winnakee barn tour took place October 9th, 2008. A host of local barns served as the day's attraction. Each year Winnakee Land Trust, http://www.winnakeeland.org/ ,does a barn tour where the public is invited to journey the back roads of the county and stop by at each of the predetermined barns on aself-tour. They are welcomed and treated to some  insight of how the barns were used and some history of the families who either farmed or have had the property passed down. Apples and cider or some product that would have been grown are offered as a treat. Craftsmen show tools and techniques instrumental to the barn's construction. Its a wonderful day for those that like barns and the nostalgia of a different time. The turnout is brisk and the landowners are always amazed (flattered) by how much interest there is.

West Pine Photography was in charge of all Photograpy operations as preparing the wall hanging of each barn that is presented to the landowners.
